Do you remember
the racing heart
the angst
the fear
of making
a move
that can never
be undone?
To Hell
with everyone
they don’t
understand
what we had
and could be
Part of me
stood at the brink
of no return
I charged on
I shocked you
rocked you
knocked you
off your feet
I rolled the dice
put it all
on Red
that you
were the one
The stakes high
the timing nigh
I made my move
You later would say
it was the day
you had waited
with breath baited
it was then
that I knew
That I would
never
be good enough
for you
If it matters
I remember
Wow! There is a lot going on here, and I loved all of it

Wow, Billy. This is incredible. You have touched on the universal but made it personal. You take the reader and force us to follow you. This is …just like Walt said…FUCKING AWESOME!!!

Coming from you that is the highest praise I could ever get. It just came to me and it is so different than anything I’ve done so far

That’s what poetry is, Billy. It comes from within, and you just find the words to give it to the world. Boy did you find the words.
